My
name is Carolina Aguilar and I am a junior in Electrical Engineering at
Purdue University. When I initially arrived at Purdue and started out in the
First-Year Engineering Program (FYE), I was introduced to so many amazing
career opportunities. I couldn’t decide on just one, I wanted to do all of them. I
first wanted to be a nuclear engineer and work with alternative energy, then I
wanted to be an astronaut. It was when I took a class about electric and magnetic interactions,
that I realized electrical engineering was the right fit for me.
After making
that choice and joining the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, I have had no regrets. The amount of doors my major has opened are way
too many, I can work with energy, telecommunications, lasers, nanotechnology,
controls, microelectronics, and circuit design. Last summer I had the
opportunity to do research at Purdue's Birck Nanotechnology Center and work on plasmonic circuits.
One thing that is so great about Purdue engineering
is all of the hands-on learning opportunities you get to have where you can apply
your knowledge and positively impact your community at such a young age. After
college I hope to develop new technology that will help society in both the healthcare
and energy sectors. I will be forever grateful for the opportunities that being
a Boilermaker has given me.
Awesome blog. I enjoyed reading your articles. This is truly a great read for me. I have bookmarked it and I am looking forward to reading new articles. https://techcoollv.com/ Keep up the good work!
