Time Management = Success

Any degree you choose at Purdue will require time-management skills. Time management was something I especially had to master because of my choice to be a student-athlete. I am pursing a degree in engineering and I am a sprinter on the Purdue Track and Field team. Many raise their eyebrows when I tell them I’m a student-athlete in engineering at Purdue. Regardless of the branch of engineering, engineering is a rigorous career path that requires sharp attentiveness 24/7 if you want high grades. I had to learn to sharpen my time management skills because my demanding schedule has no room for procrastination.

I found my drive in my determination to achieve my goals and graduate with the joy of knowing I gave my all on the track and in the classroom. So far, I am keeping up with this balance while maintaining a health mentality/well-being. The hard work is beginning to pay off! Through Industrial Roundtable (IR) I was blessed with an internship through GE Healthcare. They were pleased to see a student that regularly utilizes time management between extracurricular activities, academics, and athletics. Purdue has most definitely challenged me and pushed me to create a balance between priorities. I am enjoying my experience as a student-athlete in engineering and I’m excited for what my upcoming years hold.
