Interview with Nuclear Engineering Sophomore, Elizabeth Bramer

Hi Boilers, I’m Liz! I’m a sophomore from Hanover, Indiana, majoring in nuclear engineering, as well as engineering and public policy.

I love being a part of the nuclear engineering department on campus because we're such a small, tight knit group. I also know that there is always someone to help with classes and coursework. I really like studying nuclear engineering because I'm so passionate about nuclear energy and the advancement of clean, reliable energy.

I’m also really involved on campus! I’m the Vice President of Women in Nuclear, involved in the Women in Engineering Program and American Nuclear Society. I’m on the Logistics Committee for Purdue University Dance Marathon, and I’m involved in Intramural and Purdue Bands and Orchestras! Besides organizations, I also work for the Office of Future Engineers and recently went on a study abroad to Vienna and Chernobyl! After graduating from Purdue, I really want to help advocate for nuclear energy or conduct research in the nuclear waste field.

I love being a Boilermaker because of the tight knit community I get to be a part of. I love the College of Engineering because I've been with some of the same students since day one and, even though its a campus of 30,000+ undergrad students, I know the majority of my own major and tons of other students in other engineering majors, too! I also really enjoy the network you're a part of after college! There are Boilermakers all over the world and I can't wait to become a part of the life long club of being a Boilermaker Alum!
