Job Title: Writing/Editing Intern
Hometown: Fort Wayne, Indiana
College Education: Majoring in Elementary Education with a
minor in Spanish
I am currently
a sophomore at Purdue. I have known that I’ve wanted to be a teacher since I
was in kindergarten myself, so I am very excited to finally be pursuing my
dream! My sister graduated from Purdue in 2015 with a degree in Chemical
Engineering and when she graduated, she graciously passed her position at the
Office of Future Engineers to me. It has been an incredible experience to work
for this office and to be surrounded by engineers and people in other majors
that think and see the world from a whole different perspective than I do.
Traveling is
one of my passions and I have been blessed to have traveled to El Salvador and
Ecuador and to have studied abroad in Madrid, Spain for 6 weeks this past
summer. I love learning about and experiencing other cultures and I believe
traveling is the best way to accomplish that.
On campus I
also TA a biology class for elementary education majors. I am involved in
Campus House and Campus Outreach ministries. Last semester I was involved in
College Mentors for Kids (CMFK) and was paired with a second grade buddy who
brightened my day each week! Next semester I hope to return to CMFK granted
scheduling works out. In my free time I like to paint, craft, spend time with
friends and family, and soak up the sun rays.
