Congratulations to the students who received an admission letter from Purdue last week! This is an exciting time and we know there are
lots of decisions to be made. We really hope you consider accepting your offer
from Purdue if you haven’t yet. Here are some stories from the student staff of
their reactions when they received their letter from Purdue:
Emily – “I was
actually born at Purdue, but lived in Colorado most of my life. Purdue was my
number one choice for college. The day the acceptance letters were sent out, I
got the email saying that I had been accepted right before leaving for work. I
was so excited to have an offer from Purdue!! My mom must have called my work
while I was driving there because when I arrived, everyone shouted ‘congratulations!’
and helped me celebrate my admittance.”
Aaron – “Purdue was my number one ‘regular’ school behind
the Naval Academy. I got into Purdue but wasn’t accepted into the engineering
program. I was still excited to be accepted and decided to accept the offer and
begin my time at Purdue in a different program with the hopes of transferring into
engineering. I am currently in my fourth year at Purdue studying Aerospace
Engineering. I highly encourage students who don’t get accepted into the
college of engineering to still come to Purdue because it can work out if you
come in and work hard.”
Colin – “Purdue was a strong contender on my list of schools, but not my number one choice. I was excited to get my acceptance to Purdue, but wasn’t originally planning on going here. In the end, I accepted my offer from Purdue because of the welcoming and collaborative culture. Since then, I have really enjoyed my time, experiences, and education here!!”
Marissa – “After visiting Purdue, I was like ‘holy cow. This
is a good school.’ Purdue was my number one choice after my visit; however, it
was the last acceptance letter I received. I was at work on the day the offers
were released so I was checking my account throughout the day. I was originally
confused on wording in my account form and wasn’t sure if I got in or not but
later that night I got the 'You’re In! Boiler Up!' email. I was super excited
and accepted my offer almost immediately.”
