Homecoming 2018

Purdue’s Homecoming football game was on September 22! It was a day full of festivities as alumni came home to the West Lafayette campus from all over the world to watch their Purdue football pulled off a win against Boston College (30-13).

Homecoming is a fun weekend to be at Purdue as campus is packed and bustling with students, alumni, families, and all over Purdue fans. Homecoming celebrations included a parade with the 2018 Homecoming Court, various activities and booths along both the Memorial and Engineering Mall, tailgates, reunions for alumni, a pregame show by Purdue’s All-American Marching Band, 150-Year celebrations, and, of course, the game against Boston College!

This year, Purdue’s Homecoming Court made history as the first Purdue gender-neutral homecoming court. Candidates were not chosen based on gender, but instead chosen by online voting and formal interviews by a judging panel that was focused on how well each candidate represents Purdue. At halftime, two Purdue Royalty were crowned. This year the honors went to Lily Bishop and Grant Wood. Bishop, of Cincinnati, is majoring in industrial engineering in the College of Engineering. Wood, of Indianapolis, is majoring in biology in the College of Science.

Homecoming weekend 2018 was one full of celebration and a great kick off to the yearlong sesquicentennial celebration that lasts until Homecoming 2019.
